Car Design News will be reporting live – via Twitter – from the Vehicle Design MA Degree Show 2010 at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 June (after 13:00 GMT).  The CDN team will be attending the show and interviewing the RCA's student designers, researchers, tutors, alumni, automotive experts and other professionals in attendance from the design community. 2015 Land Rover Discovery range gets updates from the XXV Special Edition Discovery

The last hurrah for the Discovery 4 (pictured) means more luxury options No, this isn’t news on the new Land Rover Discovery family of cars, but a bit of titivation for the current Discovery 4 before production comes to an end. Earlier this year Land Rover revealed the Discovery XXV Special Edition to celebrate 25 years of the Discovery, based it on the range-topping HSE Luxury spec and then added more gloss. And now some of that gloss is being extended across the current Discovery range as Land Rover tries to keep sales buoyant ahead of the current car’s demise.

Chevrolet UK has its best ever year

Now admittedly, Chevrolet UK is not starting from a point of market dominance in the UK, but any manufacturer who has managed to increase sales in 2008 is obviously doing something right. Chevrolet UK has announced that in 2008 it managed to increase its market share in the UK by 12.5%, from 0.76% to 0.86%, with total sales for the year of 18,372 cars (which is only a smidge higher than 2007, but the lower total sales for the UK Car market in 2008 meant a significant increase in market share for Chevrolet). Chevrolet Cruze - Launches in the UK in 2009 These are not figures that are going to frighten the pants off Ford and Vauxhall, but they are an indication that a certain part of the car buying public in the UK are looking at price as a major factor, and are prepared to sacrifice a degree of driving joy to get in to a new car at a lower price.
